This section discusses the objectives, audience, organization, and conventions of the CiscoWorks User Guide for Release 4.0. It also lists related Cisco publications.
The primary purpose of this publication is to provide information on the CiscoWorks product. CiscoWorks runs on a variety of network management stations (NMS) including Solstice Site/SunNet/Domain manager ( Solstice Site/sunnet/domain manager), HP OpenView, and NetView.

This publication is designed for the Cisco Systems user who is responsible for planning, managing, and analyzing an internetwork. This includes network managers, operators, and system administrators, who should have prior networking experience, be familiar with SNMP, their SNMP network management platform and operating system, and be aware of their own network topology. Familiarity with database programs is also beneficial.
