This section discusses the objectives, audience, organization, use, and conventions of the Feature Guide for Cisco IOS Release 11.2 BC.
This document describes new features that are available in Cisco IOS Release 11.2 BC, up to and including Release 11.2(11)BC. You can use this document to learn about and configure these new features.
This document does not describe features that are available in Release 11.2, Release 11.2 F, or Release 11.2 P. For information about features in Release 11.2, refer to the Release Notes for Cisco IOS Release 11.2. For information about features in Release 11.2 P, refer to the Release Notes for Cisco IOS Release 11.2 P and Feature Guide for Cisco IOS Release 11.2 P. For information about features in Release 11.2 F, refer to the Release Notes for Cisco IOS Release 11.2 F and Feature Guide for Cisco IOS Release 11.2 F.
Because this document describes new features only, you might need to use this document in conjunction with the Cisco IOS Release 11.2 configuration guides and command references in order to obtain complete configuration information.
For information about software caveats against Release 11.2 BC, refer to the Release Notes for Cisco IOS Release 11.2 BC.
This document is intended for users who configure and maintain Cisco IOS software but who are not necessarily familiar with specific tasks, the relationships between tasks, or the commands necessary to perform particular tasks.
This document contains a single main part. This main part contains new features for the following Release 11.2 BC releases:
Each "Release 11.2(x)BC Features" part contains an alphabetical listing of new features for that release. Each feature chapter describes the feature, lists the hardware platforms that the feature can run on, identifies any configuration prerequisites, provides configuration tasks and examples, and describes new or modified commands associated with the feature.
This feature guide is published at each 11.2 BC maintenance release. With each publication a new part, which contains the features associated with that maintenance release, is added to this guide.
Features documented in earlier 11.2 BC releases also apply to the current release because software features supported in earlier 11.2 BC releases are also supported in the current release. For example, if you were to run Release 11.2(11)BC, the documentation in parts up to and including Release 11.2(8)BC applies to features supported in your software.
This document uses the following conventions:
Command descriptions use these conventions:
Examples use these conventions:

Within the Cisco IOS software documentation, the term router is used to refer to both access servers and routers. When a feature is supported on the access server only, the term access server is used. When a feature is supported on one or more specific router platforms (such as the Cisco 4500), but not on other platforms (such as the Cisco 2500), the text specifies the supported platforms.
The features describe in the Feature Guide for Cisco IOS Release 11.2 BC operate on a Cisco 7000 series router with the RSP7000 installed and on the Cisco 7500 series router.
