About This Guide

About This Guide

This section discusses the audience, organization, and conventions of this publication, and describes how to view additional documentation.

This publication is designed for people who have some experience installing networking equipment such as routers, hubs, servers, and switches. The person installing the server should be familiar with electronic circuitry and wiring practices and have experience as an electronic or electromechanical technician.

Your access server also came with a quick start guide to help you quickly install the server and connect the necessary cabling. It also details the initial configuration of the server. Basic software configuration instructions are described in the Cisco AS5300 Universal Access Server Software Configuration Guide that accompanied your access server.
