This function is used to identify the equipment and to transfer files. The following services are offered:
This function is accessible through:

Certain services can be accessed only via a management centre or OPALE:
The following paragraphs describe the access to the MMI (Man Machine Interface) Function (asynchronous terminal).
In order to assure the file transfers this function uses a protocol of the transport type (OSI level 4). Therefore it is necessary to establish a session with the remote equipment.
The following menu is displayed:
TYPE COMMAND NUMBER 1 OPENING OF SESSION 2 RESERVED 3 END OF SESSION 4 END OF MMI
| Code 1: | Set up of a simple session between two items of equipment and changeover to service level. |
| Code 2: | Reserved. |
| Code 3: | Return to welcome menu. |
| Code 4: | End of communication with MMI function. |
The following series of menus is displayed:

This service makes it possible to download the contents of the configuration file from the "source" equipment to the "destination" equipment.
This service enables an operator to download a "compressed" operation software from OPALE or NMX to equipment in operation.
The downloaded software is stored by the "destination" equipment in a RAM buffer.
Changeover to this software is obtained by means of the reset service.
This service makes it possible to upload the contents of the configuration file from the "destination" equipment to the "source" equipment.
This service allows the resetting of the "destination" equipment. The configuration to be taken into account during the start-up is indicated in the service request (by default, fixed or removable).
Resetting takes place on the "software" version stored in the buffer zone of the RAM or on the operational software version stored in Flash PROM.
When this version is valid, the module is reset with this version loaded in PROM after decompression. When this version is not valid, the module resets with the version present in PROM.
the module resets with the preceding version in PROM.
The following menu is proposed:
