These release notes describe changes made to the Catalyst 2800 and the Catalyst 2100 firmware. For more information, see the product documentation:


Version 3.71 (2800 and 2100)

This release resolved the following problems:


Version 3.67 (2800 and 2100)

This release changed the power-on self test (POST) to accommodate a problem in the 10BaseT interfaces.


Version 3.65 (2800 and 2100)

This is the flash-memory version of the firmware released in Version 3.55. It addresses the problems generated by the incorrect translation of the date into English characters


Version 3.55 (2800 Only)

This release corrected a software defect that had caused Catalyst switches to hang or reboot repeatedly on a certain date. This was due to the translation of numbers to characters for the month, day and year. This EPROM-based version of the software fixed the problem.


Version 2.55 (2100 Only)

This release corrected a software defect that had caused Catalyst switches to hang or reboot repeatedly on a certain date. This was due to the translation of numbers to characters for the month, day and year. This EPROM-based version of the software fixed the problem.


Version 3.50 (2800 Only)

This release changed how the switch manages static and dynamic MAC addresses. This change is transparent to the user.


Version 2.50 (2100 Only)

This release changed how the switch manages static and dynamic MAC addresses. This change is transparent to the user.
