You've found your way through the maze of twisty passages to the web page of Bob Stewart |
The printing press opened a new era in the availability of information, but the ability
to publish widely remained in the hands of a relative few. Radio and then
television made information even more approachable for receivers, but the ability
for originators to publish widely remained constrained by the cost and availability
of the media. Ubiquity of the Internet threw open a mechanism to publish before a potential audience of millions for an investment attainable by almost anyone, at least in modern countries. Communication of text, image, and sound has exploded, no longer limited to those who capture the interest of a publisher or own some major means of distribution. Most of us can now publish our ideas, our artwork, our music, and ourselves. Here then is my small contribution to a cacaphony that ranges from entertaining to boring, good to evil, beautiful to ugly, wise to foolish, and helpful to harmful. May you find my offering on the positive side of the balance. |
