I
wore it on my jacket, this little purple patch,
Then they slammed the door behind me and bolted the latch.
I was told I had to wear it so everyone would know,
I had to wear it right up front to make sure that it would show.
In a prison camp is were I found myself, with out family nor friend,
Many beatings I had suffered but now I was on the mend.
The S. S. guards hounded me, not allowing me any peace,
I prayed to Jehovah for endurance but never for release.
Always my purple patch would glisten in the sun,
And when others would see it -to me they would make fun.
And I wore if very proudly , for what it stood for,
For I was serving the creator from now till evermore.
You see this little purple patch of mine, meant a lot me,
I held my head up very high for all around to see.
It meant that I served Jehovah God from now until my death,
Yes I would serve Jehovah faithfully until my final breath.
But I did feel quite alone, until one day to my surprise,
I saw the purple patch ,on the coat of another , as it shimmered in
my eyes.
I saw another coming into the camp, holding her head up with pride,
I knew then Jehovah had answered my prayer and she would walk by my side.
Jehovah blessed me with a companion and no matter what be our fate,
Be it life everlasting ,or fire from the crematory grate,
We know our God Jehovah will sustain us to the end,
Never shall we waiver never shall we bend.
Many with their purple patch, have died in this prison hole!!,
But no matter what they do to us they can not take our soul.
Some were beheaded, some were shot, some just died to get away,
But Jehovah won't forget them when he comes on that final day.
They can kill the body, strangle out the life,
But Jesus will take revenge on them with his mighty knife.!!
For only God's Son with his two edged sword,
Will do just as commanded by our Sovereign Lord..
So I wore my purple patch with the greatest of pride,
And I held up my head high for I had nothing to hide.
To serve my God Jehovah, from this day to my last,
To serve him the best I can regardless of what he asks.
