What's New with Cisco Documentation CD-ROMs

February 1998

This document lists the additions and revisions to the Cisco Documentation CD-ROMs made since the last release. It is divided into three sections: "New Documents," "Revised Documents," and "Getting Assistance."


Note Reinstall the Cisco Documentation CD software each time you receive a new issue of the CDs to ensure that you are always running the latest version.

New Documents

The following documents appear on the Cisco Documentation CDs for the first time:

This document describes how to install the FastHub 112T and FastHub 124T autosensing 10/100-Mbps repeaters, and includes information on rack-mounting, cabling, general guidelines for cabling Ethernet networks, and FastHub technical specifications. This document describes the CIP microcode modifications and caveats for the latest version of CIP microcode. This document describes the features and caveats for the Cisco uBR7246 universal broadband router that supports Cisco IOS Release 11.3(1). Use this document in conjunction with the Release Notes for Cisco IOS Release 11.3 document. Software caveats listed for Release 11.3 also apply to the Cisco uBR7246.
The Cisco uBR7246 is the first model available in the Cisco uBR7200 series of universal broadband routers. The Cisco uBR7246 is part of a new class of Cisco data-over-cable products designed to allow two-way transmission of digital data over hybrid fiber coaxial (HFC) cable. The Cisco uBR7246 supports Internet Protocol (IP) routing with a wide variety of protocols and any combination of Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, high-speed serial interface (HSSI), and asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) media. The Cisco data-over-cable products, the Cisco uBR7246 universal broadband router and the Cisco cable modem, are compliant with Multimedia Cable Network Partners, Ltd. (MCNS) specifications. MCNS is a consortium of cable television companies whose goal is to create standards for interoperable data over cable systems.
