Note In the programming example, the stations and the controllers are defined by a control unit number. Each control unit number has fixed addresses which identify the unit in the BSC 3270 protocol frame. See the table below.

Example:

• Controller 0 is identified in a polling frame by its address 20 (ASCII) or 40 (EBCDIC)

• Controller 0 is identified in a select frame by its address SD (ASCII) or 60 (EBCDIC).

• Station 21 is identified in a select or text frame by its address 4E (ASCII) or D5 (EBCDIC).
