Introducing the Enterprise Documentation CD-ROM

Welcome to the Enterprise Documentation CD-ROM, the interactive library of technical product information from Cisco Systems.

This booklet will help you get started exploring and reading Cisco's technical documents. Inside you will find instructions to help you install the Verity Mosaic browser, text search software, and the Adobe Acrobat Reader on your hard disk drive. Also included is an overview of the search, display, and print capabilities of the included software.

What the Documentation CD-ROM Package Contains

The Enterprise Documentation CD-ROM contains this booklet and two documentation discs.

The Getting Started booklet covers the installation process, an overview of the user interface and navigation tools, and service and support information.

The Cisco IOS Software Documentation disc contains a library of Cisco IOS software installation and configuration information, which is stored in Hypertext Markup Language (HTML). You use Verity Mosaic to view this information.The Software Documentation disc contents include:

• Installation software and READ.ME files needed to install the Verity Mosaic browser, search software, and Adobe Acrobat Reader
  

• Release notes
  

• Configuration guides
  

• Command references and command summaries
  

• Debug command reference documentation
  

• System error messages documentation
  

The Cisco Product Documentation disc contains a library of product installation and configuration information, which is stored in Hypertext Markup Language (HTML). You use Verity Mosaic to view this information. The Product Documentation disc contents include:

• General product news, including Packet, The Cell, and the Cisco Product Catalog
  

• Router, hub, access server, and switch installation and configuration guides
  

• Switch software command reference guides and MIB reference guides
  

• Client/server software installation guides
  

• Configuration notes for memory upgrades, network interface cards, rack-mount kits, cabling kits, and field upgrade products
