The Cisco ATM PCI Adapter contains two LED indicators on the faceplate to monitor link and error status. The green LED monitors link layer activity. The yellow LED monitors physical layer activity. Definitions of the LED status are presented in Table A-1.

| Green | ON | Valid SONET frame received and locked. |
| Green | OFF | Error in SONET framing. |
| Yellow | ON | Physical layer errors such as loss of signal, frame, and cell alignment are detected by the SONET. Error is detected. May indicate a link status error (e.g., device not connected; signal not received). |
| Yellow | OFF | Signal detected. |

The Cisco ATM PCI Adapter is available with either a copper or fiber media interface. The part numbers for these boards are listed in the following table (Table A-2):
