Error and Status Messages
This appendix describes the three types of error and status messages returned by Workgroup Director: invalid messages, SNMP messages, and SNMP errors.
The following error and status messages occur because data was entered in an invalid format.
- valid range n1...n2---The value entered in this field is out of range of the parameter. Enter another value within the specified range.
- invalid IP address---This IP address has an invalid format. Enter a 32-bit IP address using the dotted-decimal notation (a.b.c.d).
- invalid address---This physical address has an invalid format. Enter a
48-bit address in the following format: nn:nn:nn:nn:nn:nn.
The following error and status messages occur as a result of an SNMP request:
- SNMP Request Started---An SNMP request has been sent to the concentrator, switch, or adapter SNMP agent.
- SNMP Request Completed---The concentrator, switch, or adapter received a successful SNMP response.
- SNMP Request Time Out---The concentrator, switch, or adapter did not receive an SNMP response within the specified time period.
- End of Table - Get Next to Wrap---The end of table was reached. Use the Get Next button to wrap to the beginning of the table.
The following error messages occur due to an exception that occured when a request was processed:
- SNMP Error - tooBig---The SNMP agent could not fit the results of an operation into a single SNMP message.
- SNMP Error - noSuchName---The requested operation identified an unknown variable name.
- SNMP Error - badValue---The requested operation specified an incorrect syntax or value when trying to modify a variable.
- SNMP Error - readOnly---The requested operation tried to modify a variable that, according to the community profile, may not be written.
- SNMP Error - genErr---A general, unknown error.
