This guide is for the networking professional installing and maintaining the Catalyst 2820 modules. It is assumed that this individual is familiar with the concepts and terminology of FDDI and local-area networking.
Cisco documentation and additional literature are available on a CD-ROM called Cisco Connection Documentation, Enterprise Series. The CD is updated and shipped monthly so it might be more current than printed documentation. To order the documentation CD, contact your local sales representative or call Customer Service. The CD is available both as a single CD and as an annual subscription. You can also access Cisco technical documentation on the World Wide Web URL
http://www.cisco.com.
This manual is organized as follows:
Chapter 1, "Introduction," describes the key features and benefits of the modules.
Chapter 2, "Installation," contains the procedures for installing modules in Catalyst 2820 high-speed expansion slots.
Chapter 3, "Planning," outlines the pre-installation and cabling guidelines and includes several sample configurations.
Chapter 4, "Troubleshooting," lists the solutions to some common problems.
