This section discusses the objectives, audience, organization, and conventions of the Cisco Internet Junction User Guide.
All Cisco technical documentation and additional literature are available on UniverCD, Cisco's online library of product information. Document Objectives
This publication introduces Cisco Internet Junction software and describes its installation and operation.
Audience
This publication was written for system administrators who are familiar with the concepts of network software and have experience installing software on personal computers and running IPX networks.
Document Organization
This guide is organized as follows:
- Chapter 1, "Overview of Cisco Internet Junction," describes Cisco Internet Junction and its security features.
- Chapter 2, "Installing a Cisco Internet Junction Gateway," provides instructions for installing and verifying Cisco Internet Junction gateway software.
- Chapter 3, "Installing a Cisco Internet Junction Client," provides instructions for installing and verifying Cisco Internet Junction client software.
- Chapter 4, "Advanced Configuration of Cisco Internet Junction," describes how to change and view the configuration of Cisco Internet Junction.
- Appendix A, "Applications Certified for Use with Cisco Internet Junction," lists applications that have been tested with Cisco Internet Junction software.
- Appendix B, "Troubleshooting Cisco Internet Junction," contains suggestions for solving installation problems at the gateway and client.
- Appendix C, "Cisco Internet Junction Error Messages," lists Cisco Internet Junction error messages and recommended actions.

Note Means reader take note. Notes contain helpful suggestions or references to materials not contained in this manual.
